Today June 8th until Friday June 14th take place Saint Bernabé Fair in honor of the Patron of Marbella, whose Onomastics is celebrated on June 11th and commemorates reconquest of Marbella in 1485.
This day along with the day of Carmen which takes place in July and the Patron of San Pedro de Alcántara in October, are the most important moments in Marbella.
This year the fairground has moved to the north of Marbella. A new larger space enabled for “casetas” and attractions to which can also be accessed by a bus service that, every 20 minutes, connect Marbella and San Pedro with that place.
The official opening is today at 22:00h in Park Francisco Cuevas Blanco. As is usual, turns on lighting, the opening speech, which this year is by chef with two Michelin stars, Dani García; and the coronation of the queens and ladies. Well as the fireworks on the beach of “El Faro”.
Tomorrow June 9th is the day of the Child; there will be reduced prices on attractions, activities for children and a big party Children, free, at 19:00h in Fairground Auditorium.
On Wednesday 10th, it is the free concert of David Bustamante at 23:00h in Fairground Auditorium.
Thursday 11th is the day of Patron Saint Bernabé. With a mass at Church Ntra. Sra. De la Encarnación and procession in honor of Patron Saint Bernabé at 11:00h.
On Friday 12th take place the concert of Antonio Orozco at 23:00h in Fairground Auditorium, with free admission.
Saturday 13th at the entrance to fairgrounds there will be contest and popular games: apple game, sack races, etc. The local artist Natalia Bernal´s performance at 20:45h and the contest of Dance Schools at 21:00h in Auditorium.
Then on Sunday 14th, fair is closed with a bullfight at 19:00h in Marbella Bullring.
Besides, everyday dance academies offer performances in their “Casetas”. And seniors can enjoy activities in “Caseta Mi Hogar”.
